Smoky Perfume Oil

Dark, dry, and raw — this is a direct smoke note with a charred, woody character and a cool, ashy edge. It reads as burnt wood rather than incense or tobacco; there is no sweetness or resinous softness to round it out, just clean, unapologetic smokiness with a lingering dry finish. Used sparingly, it adds immediate depth and edge to blends that need grounding.

Works well in:

• Perfume and body oils — skin-safe at standard dilution; highly effective as an accent note in oud, leather, and woody compositions
• Soy and paraffin candles — strong throw; best used as a supporting note to avoid overwhelming; pairs well with amber, vetiver, and tobacco
• Cold process soap — stable; adds a dark, masculine edge to resinous or spiced bars
• Reed diffusers — use at lower rates; the dry character diffuses well in open spaces
• Bukhoor blends — a natural fit alongside oud, frankincense, and sandalwood
